DisplayLite Launches Samsung 55” LED Optical Touch Screen at Screenmedia Expo 2011

Earls Court 2, London 18^th May, 2011 - DisplayLite announce the launch of a new 55” LED based optical touch screen in partnership with Samsung UK. The Samsung SM550EXTS is available exclusively in the UK through specialist AV distributor Midwich. Aggressively priced at £4,495 (RRP), the SM550EXTS is ideal for use in interactive applications such as education, training, presentation, wayfinding and digital signage.

 Incorporating Nextwindow’s optical imaging technology behind a robust metal bezel, the SM550EXTS supports two finger multi-touch and standard touch gestures such as pinch, zoom and rotate using Windows7, as well as single touch operation. Incorporating 4mm thick toughened glass with clear or anti-glare surface finish, the SM550EXTS is supported by a 3 year return to base warranty.

 Utilising the latest in LED backlight edge technology it supports 120Hz panel refresh rate enabling faster scrolling of text and dynamic content playing. Features include; built in 10W stereo speakers and full HD 1080P for the highest resolution images and rich colour reproduction. Another benefit of the SM550EXTS LED backlight technology is the reduction in heat and power consumption which reduces energy consumption.

 The touch screen works with any stylus and supports USB “plug and play” connection making it simple to install and operate. The SM550EXTS also supports a wide range of operating systems including: Linux, Mac os X, XP, Vista and Windows7.
